WHAT YOU DO FOR LOVE

Introducing Resort 23': For The Love Of The Family

For our Resort 23' installment, we tapped on the 1972 American crime classic: The Godfather for inspiration.

Directed by Francis Ford Coppola, who co-wrote the screenplay with Mario Puzo, based on Puzo's best-selling 1969 novel of the same title, The Godfather is the first installment in The Godfather trilogy, chronicling the Corleone family under patriarch Vito Corleone from 1945 to 1955. It focuses on the transformation of his youngest son, Michael Corleone, from reluctant family outsider to ruthless mafia boss.

Using the infamous character Michael Corleone as our muse, the theme for this drop was based around "the things you do for love".

As in the movie, Michael was the "good son". It was his love for his father and his family, that turned him Into his father's processor as a ruthless mob boss. So for this drop, we wanted to focus on his love of his family - and simply the things you do for love. In particular, we focused on the timeframe in the movie where Michael was exiled in Italy, after he avenged the attempt on his father's life. As this was the pivotal turning point in his transition from the "good son".
